Why we started this.

Our founder's story will appear here once it is ready to share.

Mission

The Hatch Foundation helps survivors of domestic violence move from crisis to lasting independence by providing safe housing solutions, financial assistance, practical resources, and compassionate, ongoing support that empowers them to rebuild their lives and remain free from abuse.

Vision

We envision a future where every survivor has the opportunity not only to escape abuse, but to build a safe, stable, and fulfilling life free from fear, where housing, hope, and community make lasting independence possible.

We built the guardrails before we built the program.

Our founders work in real estate. That is where our expertise comes from, and it is also an obvious question — so we answered it in writing before this organization did anything at all.

The Foundation is prohibited, absolutely, from paying our founders or any business connected to them; from spending Foundation money on housing they own, manage, or broker; from referring anyone we help to their companies; and from letting the Foundation's name be used to market those businesses. These rules apply regardless of whether the terms would be favorable to us. They were adopted at our first board meeting and can only be changed by the unanimous vote of our independent directors, with an opinion from outside counsel, and with no founder voting.

Our board has five seats. Three are held by independent directors — people with no financial or family connection to our founders. Independent directors hold the deciding voice on every matter involving the founders, including conflicts of interest, compensation, audits, and the enforcement of these rules. Our founders serve without compensation of any kind.

Board members and short bios will be listed here once the independent seats are filled.
